The Washington Township Board of Trustees met in Regular Session on May 18, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. at the <br />Washington Township Government Center, 8200 McEwen Road. President Snyder opened the meeting and <br />second graders from Driscoll and Stingley Elementary led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />MINUTES OF PRECEEDING MEETINGS <br />It was moved by Mrs. Young, seconded by Mr. Berry, that the Board approves the pre- meeting minutes <br />and the minutes of the Regular meeting held May 4, 2009, and the Workshop held May 11, 2009. <br />Vote on Motion: Young, aye; Berry, aye; Snyder, aye. M2009 -176 <br />It was moved by Mrs. Young, seconded by Mr. Berry, that the Board approves the following proclamation: <br />PROCLAMATION — MICHAEL SUTHERLAND <br />Michael S. Sutherland <br />WHEREAS, Michael Sutherland of Centerville, Ohio, will be receiving his prestigious Eagle Scout award <br />from the Boy Scouts of America; and <br />WHEREAS, Michael is a third generation Eagle Scout, following his father, grandfather, uncle and cousin. <br />He started as a Cub Scout in 1996, has earned his Arrow of Light, and has held the positions of <br />Quartermaster and Patrol Leader; and <br />WHEREAS, Michael participated in campouts, ski trips, summer camp, and Thanksgiving weekend feasts. <br />He attended Bear Claw Leadership Camp, the National Jamboree, and received the Order of the Arrow. <br />Michael is currently a senior at Centerville High School and plans to attend Sinclair Community College in <br />the fall; and <br />WHEREAS, for his Eagle Scout Project, Michael cleared and mulched a section in the wooded area behind <br />Centerville Kindergarten School for an outdoor classroom. He added wooden benches, made from downed <br />trees, and cleared and mulched several trails leading to the classroom. <br />Now, therefore, be it proclaimed by the Washington Township Board of Trustees, Montgomery County, <br />Ohio, that Michael S. Sutherland be congratulated on fulfilling this significant requirement for his <br />advancement to Eagle Scout and that he and other members of Boy Scout Troop 516 be sincerely thanked <br />for their contributions to our community. <br />Proclaimed this 18th day of May 2009. <br />Vote on Motion: Young, aye; Berry, aye; Snyder, aye.
