WORKSHOP <br />January 28, 2008 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />ATTENDANCE: <br />ELECTED OFFICIALS: Joyce Young, Terry Blair, Lee Snyder & Tom Zobrist <br />STAFF: Gary Huff & Jesse Lightle <br />I. Americana <br />Gary Black and Steve Wenstrup gave a presentation on the 2008 Americana celebration, <br />"Americana Celebrates 35 Years." Their budget for this year is $130,000. They are <br />requesting the Township to increase its donation from $15,000 to $20,000. There was a <br />general discussion about what would be included in this year's celebration. <br />II. Absenteeism Policy <br />Jesse Lightle passed out a potential absenteeism policy for review. <br />III. BZA Applicants <br />Jane Beach and Bill Gordon were interviewed as alternates for the Board of Zoning <br />Appeals (BZA). <br />IV. Letter to the City of Centerville <br />The Trustees reviewed a draft of a letter to the City of Centerville concerning the studys <br />conducted by the University of Toledo and Burnsteen and Company. <br />V. Environmental Assessment <br />Jesse Lightle brought up an e-mail she received from the City of Centerville for <br />discussion. The Centerville City Council is putting together a committee that would <br />explore ways to make Centerville more environmentally friendly. They are wondering if <br />Washington Township has something already in place or if Washington Township would <br />be interested in pursuing something on a collaborative basis with them. <br />VI. South Suburban Task Force <br />Joyce Young led a discussion concerning the South Suburban Task Force and indicated <br />that the Task Force is looking for a representative from the Township. <br />
