The Washington Township Board of Trustees met in Regular Session on June 2, 2003, at 7:30 <br />p.m. at the Washington Township Government Center, 8200 McEwen Road. President Young <br />led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />MINUTES OF PRECEEDING MEETINGS <br />It was moved by Mr. Blair, seconded by Mr. Snyder, that the Board approves the minutes of the <br />Workshop held on April 28, 2003. <br />Vote on Motion: Blair, aye; Snyder, aye; Young, abstained. M2003 -191 <br />It was moved by Mr. Snyder, seconded by Mrs. Young, that the Board approves the minutes of <br />the Regular meeting held on May 19, 2003. <br />Vote on Motion: Snyder, aye; Young, aye; Blair, abstained. M2003 -192 <br />CLERK'S BUSINESS <br />Check Register Approval <br />It was moved by Mr. Blair, seconded by Mr. Snyder, that the Board approves the Regular Check <br />Register dated June 2, 2003, in the amount of $554,258.09; said amount having been certified and <br />appropriated. <br />Vote on Motion: Blair, aye; Snyder, aye; Young, aye. M2003 -193 <br />It was moved by Mr. Blair, seconded by Mrs. Young, that the Board approves the Recreation <br />Refund Check Register dated June 2, 2003 in the amount of $894.50; said amount having been <br />certified and appropriated. <br />Vote on Motion: Blair, aye; <br />Bond Council <br />Young, aye; Snyder, aye. <br />M2003 -194 <br />With the passage of two fire levies last fall, the Township plans on building two new fire stations. <br />Fire Station #43 on Dayton Lebanon Pike and Fire Station #44 on Thomas Paine are the stations <br />being replaced. At this time staff would like to hire Bond Council to start the process of <br />borrowing the money to build the fire stations, payment of which will be made over ten years. In <br />the past the Township has used Peck, Schaffer and Williams for this type of work, and staff is <br />recommending that we use them again for this project. <br />It was moved by Mr. Blair, seconded by Mr. Snyder, that the Board approves hiring the firm <br />Peck, Schaffer and Williams, Cincinnati, Ohio, to represent Washington Township on the issuance <br />of debt for the construction of two new fire stations. The cost for this service is not to exceed <br />$9,000.00. <br />Vote on Motion: <br />06/02/03 <br />Blair, aye; Snyder, aye; Young, aye. <br />M2003 -195 <br />
