WORKSHOP <br />March 24, 2003 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />ATTENDANCE: <br />ELECTED OFFICIALS: Joyce Young, Terry Blair, & Lee Snyder <br />STAFF: Gary Huff, Mike Barlow, & Ken Parks <br />ABSENT: Jim Blakeney <br />L Fire Accreditation <br />Chief Parks reviewed the process and cost for the fire department's accreditation. <br />He noted that he would like a fourth captain to oversee the accreditation process. <br />II. Police Academy <br />Mr. Huff noted that staff would like to set up a Citizen's Police Academy in the <br />fall. <br />III. Austin Road Land Use <br />Mr. Huff updated the Trustees on a road interchange. McKenna & Associates <br />were hired to perform a study of the land area. <br />IV. Austin Road ED /GE <br />Steve Stanley and Joe Tuss from the Transportation Improvement District are <br />requesting rights to purchase property for the interchange, none of the land is in <br />the Township. They are applying for an ED /GE grant and want the Township to <br />be a participant. If the Township doesn't want to be a co- applicant, they are <br />asking for a letter of support. The Trustees asked for more information. <br />V. Purchase of Development Rights <br />Bonnie Mercuri's property on Clyo Road was discussed. Information was <br />distributed about two programs in place through the State of Ohio to preserve <br />farmland. <br />VI. Rec Levy <br />A proposed information brochure was reviewed. <br />
