WORKSHOP <br />January 27, 2003 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />ATTENDANCE: <br />ELECTED OFFICIALS: Joyce Young, Terry Blair, Lee Snyder, & Jim Blakeney <br />STAFF: Gary Huff, Mike Barlow & Tom Toberen <br />ABSENT: Joyce Young <br />I. Nutt Road Design <br />An engineering company, URS Company, will be designing this project which will take <br />approximately one year to design and will cost approximately $2,000,000.00 to build. <br />The project will probably start in 2005 and will go from Meadow Woods to Clyo. <br />II. Stormwater Phase II <br />Tom Toberen gave a brief update. This is an anti - pollution program which goes into <br />effect March IOth. It is a program required by the Ohio EPA for all jurisdictions over a <br />certain size. Washington Township falls into this category. <br />III. Salt <br />Washington Township has used 2,500 tons of salt at a cost of $85,462.61 so far this <br />season. There is enough salt for three more good snowfalls. A price has been locked in <br />for $80,000 if additional salt is needed. <br />IV. Insurance <br />Mike Barlow made a presentation. Washington Township's risk insurance renewal rates <br />for the period between 2/1/03 and 2/1/04 insurance were reviewed. The possibility of <br />dropping Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Liability (UM /UIM) coverage was <br />discussed. <br />V. Levies <br />Joyce Young, Gary Huff, and a sub - committee of the Rec Center met and discussed the <br />possibility of two levies. One of these levies would be for operations and the other for <br />capital. Mike Barlow met with the Rec Advisory Board who discussed one versus two <br />levies and recommended only one 1.5 mil levy. <br />VI. Computers — Clerk's Office <br />Mike Barlow made a presentation. The Clerk's office currently has a four -year old server <br />which needs to be updated. The Trustees approved $45,755.00 for updating the <br />mainframe. <br />
