<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS MINUTES <br />June 8, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The Washington Township Board of Zoning Appeals met in regular session on June 8, 2009 in the <br />Meeting Room of Washington Township Government Center. Members of the Board present <br />were Mr. Horine, Mrs. Mulligan, and Mr. Schwartz. Mrs. Fish was excused. <br /> <br />Call to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Horine explained the hearing format and voting procedure. <br /> <br />The Oath was administered by Mr. Horine. <br /> <br /> <br />CASE A-1574 – Howard & Gloria Mayfield, 9105 Academy View Court <br /> <br />Request is for: 1) a variance to decrease the rear yard setback to forty feet (40’); and 2) a <br />variance to increase the size of an accessory building to 1,074 square feet on property located in a <br />Residential (R-4) zoning district. <br /> <br />Mr. Horine noted that there are only three board members to hear applicant’s case. He asked the <br />applicant if there were any objections to this. Applicant did not have any objections. <br /> <br />JoEllen Scott, Deputy Administrator, presented the case. <br /> <br />Applicant represented by Howard Mayfield, 9015 Academy View Court. <br /> <br />Mr. Horine – Asked if the building materials will match the existing on both structures. <br />Mr. Mayfield – Yes, they will. He stated that the existing deck area would be an enclosed living <br />space. The existing garage is about 500+ square feet and they are adding just over 500 square <br />feet. The elevation of the garage addition would be slightly lower than the existing as shown on <br />the submitted drawings. <br /> <br />Mr. Mayfield – Also explained that the current patio is 16’ x 16’. The addition would be 20’ x <br />16’ with a cathedral ceiling; however, it would have a lower elevation than the existing roof pitch. <br /> <br />
