<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS MINUTES <br />April 27, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The Washington Township Board of Zoning Appeals met in regular session on April 27, 2009 in <br />the Meeting Room of Washington Township Government Center. Members of the Board present <br />were Mr. Horine, Mrs. Mulligan, Mrs. Fish and Mr. Roberts (as alternate). Mrs. Fischer and Mr. <br />Schwartz were excused. <br /> <br />Call to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Horine explained the hearing format and voting procedure. He informed applicants of the <br />option to defer the hearing of their case until a full board is present. No applicants deferred. <br /> <br />The Oath was administered by Mr. Horine. <br /> <br /> <br />CASE A-1568 – Michael Lafferty, 1736 W. Rahn Road <br /> <br />Request is for a variance to reduce the rear yard setback from the required sixty feet (60’) to <br />approximately thirty-nine feet eight inches (39’8”) to allow for an addition located in Residential 3 <br />(R-3) zoning district. <br /> <br />JoEllen Scott, Deputy Administrator, presented the case. <br /> <br />Applicant represented by Michael Lafferty, 1736 W. Rahn Road. Mr. Lafferty explained that he <br />was unaware of the discrepancy in the setback requirements until Ken Parks, Zoning Inspector, <br />brought it to his attention approximately 2 months ago. He could not recall who signed off on <br />which part of his project as he had several contractors involved in the project. <br /> <br />Mr. Horine – Referenced the zoning permit notation regarding the restriction that the proposed <br />accessory building not be attached to the existing residence and how that relates to what the <br />county building department approved. <br /> <br />Citizens voicing concerns, question and comments included: None. <br /> <br />
